The Tormead School Musicians

Tormead is an academically selective, independent day school in Guildford for girls aged 4 to 18.

Music plays a major part in the wider life of the School. A high percentage of girls have individual instrumental and vocal lessons and they greatly enjoy playing or singing in larger groups or forming various chamber ensembles.

A varied programme of informal and formal concerts takes place throughout the school year; on special occasions parents and old girls are invited to perform with the girls. Several Tormead students are past and present girl choristers at Guildford Cathedral and girls have gone on to study Music at Cambridge, Cardiff, Durham and Nottingham, and on the Tonmeister course at Surrey University.

This lunchtime programme will be led by the Chamber Choir and additionally feature solo vocal and instrumental items including Puccini’s O mio babbino caro and Lloyd Webber’s No Matter What.
